After the declaration of SET result, each participating institute will release a cutoff list to shortlist the candidates. The participating institutes will then call the candidates for the admission process which includes further rounds. If candidates want to apply at colleges other than those selected during the SET application process, then they will have to fill out the application form for those other colleges individually. The SET selection process includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Applicants can begin preparing for the GD/PI rounds soon after the SET result announcement. The SET result will be declared online after the exam is conducted. The SET result cum scorecard is an important document for the SET admission process. The following details are mentioned on every candidate's SET scorecard 2024:
- Name of the candidate
- SET Registration Number of the candidate
- SET Roll Number of the candidate
- Sectional scores obtained by the candidate
- Total score obtained by the candidate.

SIU will release the SET 2026 result on May 20, 2026. SET scorecard will be available for both sessions on same day. Students can use their login details to download scorecard.
