No, IELTS is not mandatory to study at the Sheffield Hallam Uni. It also accepts several other English language tests. A valid score in either the TOEFL-iBT, Pearson PTE, or Duolingo English test is given equal importance as IELTS.

International Students can apply to Sheffield Hallam University through the UCAS application portal. The students are required to submit the application before the required deadline in September every year. Sheffield Hallam University offers a range of distance learning courses to international students who cannot study on campus. The students will have the benefit of studying in a place of their choosing and they can fit their schedule based on their personal life tasks. Students who have chosen the distance learning courses are not required to fulfill the campus attendance requirement.
Some of the virtual learning spaces that are used by the university include Blackboard, PebblePad through the Google Apps and these can also be used together as required.
