There are many vocational short term courses that are provided by government as well private institutions in fashion technology.
You may look at the NIFT website for continuing education page where they have at least 1yr programme in fashion design.
Also ATDC has a pan India network which is registered under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles that provide 6 months to 2 years of various courses in fashion design. These will even cost you much less than its private counterparts.
Apart from these government institutions, Many private institutes like Pearl Academy, JD fashion school provide short term courses in Fashion.
