Hi Sruth, The candidates must have Master's Degree recognised by U. G. C. Candidates having Post Graduate Diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/Institute or Foreign degree/Diploma/certificate awarded by the Foreign University/Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their Diploma/degree/certificate with Master's degree of recognised Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiuweb.org)
All the best.

One can come to the campus and go directly to the Makhtab and get previous years' papers which will give you an insight of what would be asked in the exams, or follow any standard book on sociology and current affairs. That will do the trick. All the best.
