Sociology is a field relevant to planners, leaders, administrators, lawmakers, developers and Educators. These studies ACT as an aid when creating public policies to address numerous social problems such as racial issues, discrimination, crime, gender divide, social stratification, globalisation & migration. Sociologists work in corporate sector, as faculty in colleges and universities, government and non-profit world as research heads, policy analysts, consultants and programme managers. They also work as criminologists, demographers, statisticians, urban planners and community developers working closely with anthropologists, psychologists, political scientists and other social workers. There research methods vary from being investigative to laboratory simulations. Sociologist can work freelance or as employees of magazines & newspapers as Feature Writers on social issues, with general interest television channels like The History Channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic either as employees or freelancers scripting & working on programs on areas of special interest in their subject. Sociology majors who are interested in organisational theory gravitate toward development, organisational planning and training.
