The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise. Aspirants seeking admission in UG courses such as BA, BBA, BCA, BSc and BPES are selected based on their merit and do not require passing an entrance test. The university accepts entrance exam scores for admission to PG and PhD programmes. The university conducts SBEST for admission to Law and MBA courses.

Sri Balaji University Pune considers scores in qualifying exam for courses such as BBA, BA, BCA, etc. For admission to MCA, MBA and other PG and PhD programmes, aspirants need to pass entrance exam. SBU conducted SBEST for admission to MBA and Law programmes. Selected candidates have to further pass the personal interview round for final selection.
