The SSC GD exam pattern and syllabus was changed in the year 2022. The exam pattern for the SSC GD exam, including the time duration and number of questions, was changed by the Commission. However each year the syllabus will be notified officially. The SSC GD Constable exam comprises a total of 80 objective-type MCQs of two marks each. The SSC GD 2025 syllabus includes General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi. To prepare for the SSC GD Constable exam, candidates need to know the SSC GD exam pattern and syllabus.

The SSC GD Constable application fee for 2025 is INR 100. However, the SSC GD exam fee is exempted for women, SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen. A candidate is required to pay Rs. 100/- (General and OBC) while filling out the application form for SSC GD 2024-25 whereas SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/Females are exempted from the application fee. While women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

The SSC GD exam is generally considered to be easy to moderate in difficulty level. A large number of candidates apply for the SSC GD exam which makes competition high. However, the syllabus covers general knowledge, basic mathematics, English/Hindi language comprehension, and reasoning abilitiesa and consists of Multiple Choice Questions. The questions test fundamental concepts and understanding, not in-depth knowledge of any particular subject.

Candidates called to appear for the SSC GD Physical Test need to fulfill the physical requirements in terms of weight and height. Have a look at the SSC GD Height requirement below:

No, once selected, the SSC GD Constable exam center cannot be altered. Requests to switch the location of the SSC GD test after the admit card has been issued are not taken into consideration by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The exam center listed on each candidate's admit card is where they must show up for the SSC general examination. To ensure they arrive at the testing location on time, all applicants who intend to take the exam should acquaint themselves with the location. The SSC GD Constable conducts the exam in a computer-based mode. The exam comprises a total of 80 objective-type MCQs of two marks each. In the SSC GD CBE (computer-based exam), the questions are asked from the four sections that includes general intelligence and reasoning, general knowledge and general awareness, elementary mathematics, and English/Hindi, based on the latest syllabus. The time allotted for the SSC GD exam is one hour. The SSC-GD total marks are 160. The total number of questions asked in the exam is 80. There is a negative marking for the incorrect answers of 0.25 marks.
