In 2024, SSC Stenographer vacancies were revised to 1926. Earlier, the Commission had announced 2006 vacancies for the post of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C') in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations.

Candidates can download the syllabus PDF and start preparing for the exam. SSC Stenographer syllabus for CBT comprises topics from the subjects- Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension.

The correction charges once paid are not refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection. Subject to the receipt of applicable correction charges, the latest modified/ corrected application will be treated as the valid one and the previous application (s) submitted by such candidates will be cancelled.

The correction charges can be paid only by online mode through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards. The correction charges once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection. Subject to the receipt of applicable correction charges, the latest modified/
corrected application will be treated as the valid one and the previous application (s) submitted by such candidates will be cancelled.

A candidate will be allowed to correct and re-submit his modified/corrected application two times during the 'Window for Application Form Correction' i.e. if he has made mistake in his updated application also, he will be allowed to re-submit one more modified/corrected application after making requisite corrections/modifications. No more corrections in the application form will be allowed under any circumstances.

The charges for making corrections in SSC Stenographer application form is INR 200 for the first time and INR 500 for making correction and re-submitting modified/ corrected application for the second time. The correction charges will be applicable to all candidates irrespective of their gender/category. SSC Stenographer application form 2025 has been released on June 6, 2025. Earlier, the application form was scheduled to be released on June 5, 2025. However, the registration process got delayed. Candidates need to fill the application form online only. The application fee can be paid online only.

The minimum percentage of marks for qualifying in the SSC Stenographer Computer Based Examination will be as under:
Unreserved Category: 30%
OBC/EWS: 25%
All Other Categories: 20%
