No. The cut off applies to the SSC Stenographer written CBT only. Those who clear it move to the Skill Test, which may have its own passing criteria, but no separate cut off for each category in the CBT context.

The official SSC Stenographer cut off is released along with the result on the SSC website in PDF format. SSC Stenographer cut off is decided by SSC based on:
Number of vacancies
Number of candidates
Total marks
Difficulty level of the exam

The cut off is the minimum score a candidate must achieve in the Computer Based Test (CBT) to be shortlisted for the Skill Test phase. It is category-wise (e.g. UR, OBC, SC, ST, etc.) and post-wise (Grade C or D).

The mode of selection is given below:
- Based on the marks of CBE, candidates are selected category-wise to appear for the Skill Test
- The skill test is mandatory and qualifying in nature
- Candidates who qualify the skill test are considered for final selection on the basis of their merit in the CBE
- Final selection and allocation of ministries/departments are made on the basis of their performance in the CBE and preferences of posts/departments given at the time of document verification
- The final allotment is done on the basis of merit-cum-preferences

In the case where more than one candidate secures equal aggregate marks in the computer-based exam, the tie is resolved by applying the following method:
- Marks in Part-I (i.e. General Intelligence & Reasoning)
- Marks in Part-II (i.e. General Awareness)
- Date of birth, older candidates will be placed higher
- Alphabetical order in which names of the candidates appear
