SSC Stenographer

Candidates must start shorthand dictation practice early even while preparing CBT.  Required speeds are Grade C: 100 wpm for 10 minutes (transcription: 40 min, English),  Grade D: 80 wpm for 10 minutes (transcription: 50–65 min), Candidates must build consistency in accuracy and transcription under time pressure.

Candidates must start solving mock tests after completing 60 to 70 per cent of the syllabus. Candidates must begin with the topic-wise/sectional tests then move to full-length mocks. Candidates must take weekly full mocks. They should thoroughly analyse mistakes, track weak areas and improve the same.

Candidates must prepare a good plan. They should revise Grammar, Vocabularly, etc. Candidates must study four to six hours. They should revise all the topics given in the syllabus thoroughly.

SSC Stenographer exam include subjects such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language & Comprehension. Candidates must understand the exam pattern, cover important topics and use trusted books as given below:

• Objective General English (S.P. Bakshi / Wren & Martin)

• Lucent's General Knowledge, Manorama Year Book for GK

SSC Stenographer admit card carries the following details:

• Candidate's Name

• Roll Number/Registration Number

• Date of Birth

• Exam Date and Time

• Exam Venue

• Reporting Time

• Exam Instructions

Candidates must carry the following documents:

• A printed copy of your SSC Stenographer Admit Card.

• A valid photo ID proof (e.g., Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport).

• Two passport-sized photographs.

No, the SSC Stenographer admit card will not be sent to candidates by post. Candidates need to download the same online from the official website by logging with the required credentials.

Candidates can change their SSC Steno login credentials by entering certain details.  The login will be required for downloading the many things. The login details are provided to candidates after successful registration.

If any candidate does not find their details regarding the admit card on the official website one week before the examination, they should contact the concerned regional/sub-regional office of the commission with proof of having submitted SSC Stenographer application form 2022. Candidates must write registration number, registered email ID and mobile number along with their name, date of birth and name of the exam while addressing any communication to SSC.
