According to US News, the Trine University acceptance rate is 86%. It can be said that Trine Uni is moderately difficult to get into for Indian students. Maintaining strong academics and meeting English proficiency requirement should prove enough for most students.

Comparing the two Universities, it is easier to get into the University of Washington to the University of California, Los Angeles because of its acceptance rates. The acceptance rates for UCLA are extremely low at just 9% that also means very high competition among the students whereas the acceptance rates at University of Washington is at 39% which makes all the difference.

On a bigger, fuller picture, INR 20 L are not sufficient to study abroad for most UG and PG courses. As the cost of education is too high at top study destinations. And even if you choose to study at public universities, you will still have to manage the living expenses. Thus, there are two options left - study in a country that has really affordable cost of living and education; or apply for a fully-funded scholarship, which will not jus cover your tuition but your living costs as well, thus might even save your INR 20 L.

To apply to a university abroad with a scholarship, you need to apply to the university first, followed by choosing a specific scholarship that matches your course and condition (need, merit or academics). Once you decide on a scholarship, prepare your documents and application form, and submit them on time. Ideally, the application for the scholarship must begin at least 12-18 months before the course start date.
