Yes, if your interest lies in the field of teaching then you must go for it and make sure that you must have secured an aggregate of 50% in your class 12th examination from any recognised board. Though eligibility criteria differ from college to college you are applying for.

I have 2016 edition of Trueman's Paper 1 by M. Gagan ans Sajit Kumar. Do I need to buy the latest one or would this one also be okay?

In my opinion, the edition you have is good enough, but for checking on new formatting and pattern of questions you can buy the latest one.
