Hi Anna,
You could not apply for Asst. Professor until you have done Ph.D. or qualified the exam. You need to clear the exam and then apply for post. However, apart from it you can apply for lectureship and JRF simultaneously.

Yes, you can appear for the UGC NET exam. As per the NTA guidelines, the University should be approved either from AICTE or AIU approved. NTA released the UGC NET form on 1st March 2019 and the last date to fill the online application form is 30th March 2019.
Before apply for the NTA UGC NET, you must fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e
1. You should have secured minimum 55% marks in your PG.
2. Not more than 30 years of age if applying for JRF and there is no age limit for the post of an Assistant Professor.
