To become a lecturer in the government colleges, the candidates have to qualify in the NET and SET examination conducted by the UGC and State government. The eligibility to appear for the examination is:-
1. You must have passed the master's degree from a recognized university.
2. Candidates must have at least 55% aggregate in the Master's degree.

UGC NET 2018 Importance and Summary:
On behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET). UGC NET is conducted twice a year in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. As per media reports, from 2018 onward UGC NET will be conducted once a year.

After completing the Diploma course in primary teaching, you are eligible to teach pre-primary level students. At this level, teachers are not usually paid high salary.

There is no age limit to apply for the integrated course. You can apply after completing 12th with 60%.

A postgraduate Diploma is not equal to the postgraduate degree. Both are the different and post graduate Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the UGC NET exam.
For the UGC NET exam, you must have the minimum qualification of the master degree with at least of 55% marks in his or her master degree.
So, if you have done master degree in any stream with at least of 55% marks, then only you are eligible to apply for the same.

You can go for B.Ed if you have an inclination towards the same. Other options available are MBA, M.Sc. In Electronics. The best course you need to decide on your own as it totally depends on your interest.

B.Ed is not required for lecturer job in colleges. You just need a Post Graduation degree with good academic record to get job in private colleges. If you are looking for Government college lecturer job then you have to clear exams like UGC-NET/SLET.
B.Ed is only necessary for getting teaching job in schools. Hence, don't worry if you don't have B.Ed qualification. If you have Post Graduation then you can apply for job in various private colleges directly for interview. You have to clear interview for getting the job. If you have aim of getting a Government University lecturer job then be prepared for exams like UGC NET or SLET.
