No, 12th appearing students are not eligible to attend UGC NET. Candidates who are applying to UGC NET should have completed their Masters, or appearing for their final examinations in Masters are eligible to apply. Please read for a detailed eligibility criteria mentioned at the link provided below:

It is not necessary to study B.Ed, unless you want to enter the teaching line.

Yes, a B.A. LL.B. Graduate can pursue B.Ed after graduation provided he/she scores a minimum of 50% overall in their graduation degree. Educational qualification is mentioned below:
Educational Qualification Required: The minimum educational qualification required is "Bachelor Degree" in any discipline from a recognised university. Since LL.B. (Bachelor of Law) is a Graduate Degree, of course LL.B. Is treated as a Graduate Degree.
Minimum Percentage Required in Graduation: Minimum 50% are required ( Relaxation of 5% for applicants in the reserved categories)

Any field will be suitable. The field where you want to go for teaching will be the preferred one. You can choose operations, supply chain, marketing, HR, IT, etc. It depends on your exposure and teaching skills. Also, your earlier education background.

Hi Ashutosh,
If not engineering then you can opt for B.Sc. In subjects of your interest like Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Maths, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, etc. BCA B.Sc/LLB, BBS, BMS, etc., are some other options.

Dear Rehbar,
After clearing the NET exam without a Ph.D, you can become an assistant professor, not a professor. If you have a good work experience like 8-15 years experience in the teaching field, you can become an associate professor.

If you wish to go for B.Ed through distance, you need to have at least fifty (55) percent marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelors in Engineering. You can apply online or can visit the study center of the institute in which you wish to apply.

With 48% marks, it would be difficult to get in a good college. You need to have 50% and above for admission.
College in Surat for B.Ed are: B.J. Patel College of Education, Government B.Ed college, Sarvodya College and many more.
