You need to have secure at least 55% marks in your Master's degree exams (in streams such as humanities, social science, electronic science, computer science & applications, etc.). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD categories is 50%.

Hi Nidhi, Yes. For NET in Environmental Sciences, a candidate should have at least one of the subjects in his/her PG:
Botany
Zoology
Chemistry
Environmental Sciences

The minimum qualification required to be a teacher is graduation in a particular discipline that you want to teach. For Post Graduate teachers (PGT teachers), Masters in the relevant subject is mandatory. Many top-notch international curriculum schools like Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad, Mallya Adit International School, TISB, etc. prefer candidates with M.Phil or even Doctorate degrees. Most schools demand a Bachelors in education (B.Ed) degree, but of late the trend is changing. People without a B.Ed degree do get a job in schools but at a lower pay scale.

For UP-TET, you need to have completed your graduation from a college or a university recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). Apart from this, you must be studying in the 2nd year/passed BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE (National Council For Teacher Education) or obtained 50% marks in graduation and PG from a UGC approved institute and must have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed/L.T in an institute affiliated to NCTE (National Council For Teacher Education).

Yes, you can apply for KSET. You should have secured a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) for general category. On the other hand, the minimum marks for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons With Disability (PWD-VH/PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB, is 50% in Master's degree or equivalent exam from universities/institutions recognised by UGC New Delhi, in the subjects opted for KSET examination.
