Candidates can choose upto three SET test cities according to their preference. Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the SET application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates are allotted a test centre in second or third preference only if the seats have been filled or the exam centre has been cancelled at that location. Aliah University Admission Test is held by Aliah University, Kolkata to provide admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. AUAT is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper test). Duration of the entrance exam is 2 hours. The university offers admissions to various courses such as MA (foreign languages), BFA, MFA, MIRM, MHRM, MSc, BVoc, PGD Business Management, MCom, etc. through Departmental Tests i.e. candidates have to apply and appear for the test conducted by the concerned faculty. In some of the courses offered by the faculty members of AMU, there will be no admission test/ departmental test. The admissions for these courses will be based solely on qualifying examinations. The concerned department/faculty will share the qualifying examination and admission criteria with the applicants only.

The authorities release SMIT 2026 results in the form of a rank list a few days after the exam is over. Candidates will be able to check their obtained scores and rank through the SMIT result. It is to be noted that the authorities will not use any other methods, such as post or fax, to declare the result of SMIT 2026.
