UPSC CAPF 2025: The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the UPSC CAPF (AC) 2025 exam on August 3, 2025. The UPSC CAPF exam will be held offline in various cities throughout the country. The CAPF AC exam pattern is divided into two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total marks allotted to the UPSC CAPF exam 2025 are 450. Candidates qualifying the written exam are called for Physical Standards Tests/ Physical Efficiency Tests. The full form of CAPF (AC) is Central Armed Police Force (Assistant Commandant). CAPF is a competitive exam conducted by the UPSC to recruit candidates in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).  CAPF (AC) exam provides the opportunity for a direct entry at the Assistant Commandant (AC) level in the paramilitary forces in India. UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria 2025

The UPSC describes the eligibility criteria for the CAPF exam in the official notification. The UPSC CAPF eligibility criteria 2025 is explained below in detail including the age limit and educational qualifications:

UPSC CAPF Nationality:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates who are subjects of Nepal and Bhutan are also allowed to apply for the exam.
  • No other candidate can apply for the UPSC CAPF exam.

UPSC CAPF Age limit 2025 for AC

The lower age limit for the CAPF exam is 20 years, and the upper age limit is less than 25 years. The age is calculated from August 1 of the exam year. To appear in the UPSC CAPF exam 2025, the candidates must have been born not earlier than August 2, 2000, and not later than August 1, 2005. However, there is relaxation in the upper UPSC CAPF age limit for the reserved category candidates. UPSC CAPF Eligibility 2025: Educational Qualification

As given in the official CAPF notification, "the candidate must hold a Bachelors degree from any recognised university" 

The candidates who appear in the final year of their degree course can also apply for the exam but they have to produce the final year mark sheet of the qualifying exam with the detailed application form.

Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates:

The candidates having the NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be given preference at the time of the Interview. These qualifications will be given consideration at the time of the Interview/Personality Test only.

UPSC CAPF Selection Process 2025

The UPSC CAPF selection process comprises three stages - written exam, PET/ PST and Interview round. Have a look at the details of these CAPF selection stages below:

Stage I - UPSC CAPF Written Exam - 450 marks

The stage I of the UPSC CAPF AC selection process is the written examination. The written exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 is the objective type question paper, and Paper 2 is the conventional essay-type question paper having two parts.

Stage II - UPSC CAPF Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests

The Physical Efficiency and Medical Standard tests are only qualifying in nature. The candidates need to meet the standard prescribed in the CAPF notification. After passing Stage I, the candidates need to undergo the Physical Efficiency and Medical Standard Test.

The candidates declared passed in the second stage of the CAPF exam will be called for the interview/personality test. The interview/ personality test will be conducted on the UPSC premises in New Delhi. After the interview/personality test, the final result will be declared.
