Decisions from the Uni of Edinburgh usually takes between 4 to 12 weeks to release admission decisions, though timelines can vary for different programs.  PG students usually receive their decisions within 2 to 8 weeks, but highly competitive programs can take up to 3-4 months.

UG students applying by Oct or Jan via UCAS generally receive their decisions by late Apr to mid-May.

University of Edinburgh acceptance rate is 51%, which certainly makes it competitive to get into. However, Indian students with strong academics (GPA of 8/10 or more) and a valid proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) have genuine chances of getting a seat here.

If the students applied by the October or Jan 2026 deadline they can expect a decision from the University of Edinburgh by mid-May. If not, most applicants are likely to hear back from the university by april end.

Students can track their application process via UCAS Hub and MyEd.
