Yes, international students may have a tough time getting into the University of Liverpool as its acceptance rate is only 24%.

This would mean that only 24 students were selected out of every 100 who applied. But the students should not be discouraged by this if they meet the given criteria -

  • A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of overall 6.5 bands for any Liverpool program
  • Extracurriculars

Yes, there is a large community of international students studying at the University of Liverpool. In total there are 7000 currently, which makes up a huge chunk of the total students here.

Due to this, international students feel very welcomed and comfortable during their studies at Liverpool.

If someone is applying to the University of Liverpool as an Indian student, then they are required to apply with an English language test score. The students can take IELTS, PTE or Duolingo to be able to apply here.

For most courses, the IELTS score requirement is  6.5 overall with no skills less than 5.5 but for the courses mentioned below this requirement can be much higher -

  • Dentistry
  • Veterinary Science
  • Medicine

The specific score requirement might vary based on the programs.

If an Indian student has received a CAS from the University of Liverpool, they should then apply for a UK student visa. This process can take time. The university suggests applying 3 months before the programme starts.

To apply for a UK student visa the applicant would need to apply via the embassy and also submit some important documents and the visa application fee.

The time for replying to an application is different for each department of the university. And, many students describe this process as fast

Liverpool University tries to send out the application results within a few weeks and there have also been cases when the students have received the admission decisions within a few days as well.

On average, UK universities take around 2 to 3 weeks to send decisions.

Yes, after submitting an application to the University of Liverpool, international students are generally made to go through an interview.

Although this happens mostly for the competitive programs like Medicine and the Liverpool University admission requirement varies as per the department.

If any student is invited for an interview, they receive an invitation via their registered email address. After applying, these invites are sent in November, generally.

To apply for the University of Liverpool UG programs, international students have to go via the UCAS portal. And yes, these UCAS admission deadlines need to be taken care of.

The January 2026 Equal consideration application has passed but the final admission deadline for Liverpool University is Jun 30, 2026 for the September intake at this university. So the students are required to take care of these deadlines too.

Yes, not only there is a September intake available at the University of Liverpool, it is also the most famous. The reason behind it's popularity is that both UG and PG programs open this time.

The applications for this intake open much earlier and Indian students should be make any special arrangements because test prep and the UK visa processing takes time.

For UG, UCAS portal shall be used and the admission deadline for the same is Jun 30, 2026.
