TS PGECET Counselling

Yes, TS PGECET 2026 phase 2 counselling is being held. The seat allotment result is now available.

TSCHE released TS PGECET (Phase I) provisional seat allotment result on July 26, 2026. Candidates whose name is included in the eligibility list and have done their web-option entry can check their seat allotment results.

There is as such no fixed number of seats through TS PGECET admission. However, the seat count changes every year. The seats are mainly divided into two parts:

• Convenor Quota Seats (70 to 80%)

• Management Quota Seats (20 to 30%)

As, GATE and GPAT scores are also accepted, first preference are given to them. After filling the seats, admissions will be done based on TS PGECET rank/percentile scores.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education conducts TS PGECET counselling. While JNTU Hyderabad conducts the admission process. 

TSCHE usually conducts two to three rounds of TS PGECET counselling. A spot counselling might also be conducted depending on the seat availability. Each counselling phase, comprise of counselling registration, display of eligible list, web-option entry, followed by seat allotment, document verification, and reporting to the allotted college.

Every year, around 23000 to 27000 candidates register for TS PGECET, out of which 21000 to 23000 students appear for the exam. In 2026 session, computer Science engineering branch had the maximum number of applicants. 

Around 180 to 200 colleges accept TS PGECET score for admission. Some of the top colleges include:

• Osmania University, Hyderabad

• Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

• Kakatiya University, Warangal

Through TS PGECET, candidates can get admission to M.Tech colleges in Telangana only.

TS PGECET counselling for final phase has been completed. The allotment result was announced on September 8. 2026.

Every year, around 50000 to 75000 students appear for TS PGECET exam. GATE qualified candidates also apply for the exam. However, they are exempted from attempting CBT.
