Savitribai Phule Pune University has a sports complex that includes Basketball and Volleyball Courts along-with Cricket and Football Grounds, Gymnasium and a Sports Hostel. The complex is by parks. It was established on 10th February, 1949, under the Poona University Act. Because of its beautiful architecture, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East.'
