If you can not meet the minimum IELTS/TOEFL scores for admission requirements then you can join UB's English Language Institute to improve your English. If you can take the TOEFL or IELTS again in the near future and present a new score card which meets the minimum admission requirement for the English language then your application file will be reconsidered. The university will review your application with a new scorecard and if it meets the minimum IELTS/TOEFL requirement then the university may offer you a new admission letter.

University at Buffalo (UB) is officially called the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (and this is sometimes shortened to SUNY Buffalo). UB is the premier flagship university center of the SUNY system. There is a second, different school with a similar name and is known by multiple names; SUNY Buffalo State, Buffalo State, Buff State, Buffalo State College, and SUNY College at Buffalo.

The University at Buffalo has rolling admission deadlines. This means that Buffalo University accepts applications from international students and admits students until all available seats are filled. Some degree programs fill their seats quickly. Considerations for scholarships for new students including international students begin in January. Therefore, it is recommended that the student should apply as early as they can in the last year of secondary school. The University at Buffalo recommended filing date is February 1 for the Fall applicants and October 1 for Spring and earlier is better.

GED stands for Graduate Equivalency Degree or General Educational Diploma. This is for high school students who are close to finishing and getting their Diploma but do not quite get there. In such cases, students may take a GED test that will indicate whether or not they have a high school level of education. The GED test has four main areas of testing; Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning through language arts, Science and social studies. This test is recognised and accepted by nearly all US colleges, employers and universities.
