To get admission at the University of Essex international students are required to meet the admission requirements. The general admission requirements for Indian students are:

Undergraduate

  • An average of 60% of the best four subjects from Indian high school qualifications
  • Students scoring more than 70% in English from CBSE and CISCE are not required IELTS

Postgraduate Taught

  • A minimum of 50% or 5.3/10 GPA in bachelor’s degree from Band 1 institutions
  • A minimum of 55% or 5.8/10 GPA in bachelor’s degree from Band 2 institutions

Yes, international students going for full-time degree courses are allowed to do part-time work while studying. However, an international student is allowed only a maximum of 20 hours per week for paid/unpaid work for those studying at a degree level or more. Full-time work is allowed but only during vacations. Self-employment, freelance and contract work are not permitted.
