Yes, the University of Illinois at Chicago is ranked in the year 2026 by the QS World and the Times Higher Education. 

As per the QS Global rankings, the University of Illinois at Chicago ranks at #334 in the year 2026 which is an improvement from its last year place of #365.

QS also ranked some of the University of Illinois at Chicago courses like -

  • Architecture
  • Art
  • Biological Sciences

Yes, the Uni of Illinois at Chicago offers housing. Students can apply for the housing at this university once they are admitted to this university. There is no deadline for applying for housing, but they must apply as soon as possible. A few of the housing options of this university are Commons North, Commons West, Thomas Beckham Hall, etc.

UIC recommends to start looking for an internship at a minimum one semester before your desired start data. Moreover you should also take note of the internship programme timing of the employer and industry since some companies require an application to roles months in advance.

UIC suggests students to plan, explore and focus. You can find internships on the UIC job board or through external sources. Then assess if your college or department offers an intership course for credit. Lastly determine the type of organisation you want to work at and what type of role within the organization

Students who want to take admission to UIC UG courses should have completed high school. TOEFL / PTE / IELTS score has to be submitted too. Whereas, for PG courses admission, a Bachelor's degree is required for admission to the University of Illinois Chicago. GMAT / GRE scores may also be required as per the courses. Some of the documents that may be required for admission include transcripts, CV, English language proficiency score, portfolio, etc.

As per U.S. News, the ranking of UIC Chicago is #84 in 2026. It is also ranked at #179 in the Best Value schools. In the National Universities ranking, this university was ranked at #80 in 2025. A slight decline in the National Universities ranking can be seen. But, still the university has managed to stay in the Top 100 Universities in the U.S.

UIC Chicago Laurette Kirstein Scholarship is a scholarship for international students at the UG, PG, and Professional course level. Students should have a minimum of 3.5 GPA to avail this scholarship. Also, the students must have completed at least one semester of coursework at UIC Chicago at the time of application.
