University of Madras Eligibility

In order to get admission into the BCom course at Madras University, a candidate must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board. The marks that a student earned in the qualifying examination are counted by the university while admitting the student. In addition to this, students must ensure whether they meet the specific requirements put forward by the affiliated colleges. Basic educational qualifications are the minimum education requirements to be eligible for getting a seat in Madras University's BCom course for calendar year 2024.

For Madras University PhD admission, candidates must meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the university. The eligibility criteria vary for PhD full-time and part-time courses. Find below the criteria for both courses:

The postgraduate MBA (Regular & Self-supportive) programme is offered by Madras University. This programme is offered full-time by the University of Madras for a two-year length. The only criteria for Madras University MBA admission in 2023 is entrance. The MBA programme at Madras University's Institute of Distance Education offers a number of specialisations, such as hospital management and human resource management.

The TANCET MBA, MAT, XAT, CAT, CMAT, and TANCET exams are approved for MBA programmes, and graduation requires a 60% aggregate score.

For MBA course admission, candidates must have a valid bachelor's degree in any subject of the University of Madras or any other university accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto. This is the minimum eligibility criteria, and fulfilment of the same does not confirm selection. For verification purposes, candidates are also required to present the bachelor's mark sheets and certificate along with other academic certificates during form filling/admission confirmation. In case of non-submission of the documents, an application is treated as invalid.

Candidates must have passed graduation in any stream with more than 50% aggregate (45% for reserved category).

Mother M. Celine Scholarship is awarded to the students of Madras University once a year. An amount of INR 1,000 is disbursed annually to the first-year students in the affiliated Colleges of Madras University based on the Class 12 marks or equivalent thereto passed in Tamil Nadu by securing the highest marks on the first attempt.
