Madras University admission chances depend on the programme and specialisation. Some courses, such as MBA and MCA have higher competition duw to entrance-based selection. But other courses are easy to get a seat in. Students can expect moderate difficulty level for admissions.

BTech & MBA are the flagship courses of the university. It has been ranked 38th under "University" category, 68th under "Overall" category & 18th under "State Public Universities" by NIRF 2025. The total course fee ranges between INR 28 K - 6 L, depending on the chosen specialisation. Overall, it is a good government college.

Madras University has also been recognised by the UGC. It ahs been ranked 38th under "University" category, 68th under "Overall" category & 18th under "State Public Universities" by NIRF 2025. BTech & MBA are the flagship courses of the university. Overall, it is a very good university in terms of rankings, infrastructure, faculty, etc.

Madras University TANCET Cutoff 2026 is out for admission to MBA/PGDM for all rounds and categories for students belonging to the AI quota. For the General category TANCET cut off 2026 for MBA is 489. On the other hand, for the OBC AI category, the same course has the Round 1 cutoff of 623.
