Candidates are automatically considered for merit scholarship aid for UMass Boston based on their admissions application. The office of undergraduate admissions inform recipients at the time of acceptance if they have been selected for one of these scholarships.

Federal and state grants are not available for international students. Also, merit scholarships are not available to international upcoming first-year students. However, a limited number of merit scholarships are available for existing students based on their academic performance. So, continuing students can apply for a limited number of scholarships based on their academic performance.
