The minimum TOEFL score required for admission to the University of Miami is 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT). This score is valid for two years from the date of the original exam. For non-native English speakers submitting the TOEFL or IELTS, competitive applicants generally score above 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 80 on the online TOEFL, or 6.5 on the IELTS. Additionally, non-native English speakers who have submitted the TOEFL and/or IELTS and do not have competitive scores may be required to take the University's Intensive English Program and complete it with a specific grade to fulfill the English language proficiency requirement.
