The acceptance rate at the University of Otago stands at 60 to 70% meaning out of every 100 applicants, only 60 to 70 are rolled out an offer letter. Undergraduate (UG) Admissions:

·         International students must have completed 12 years of schooling with a minimal overall average of 75 to 80%, with an English score requirement of 65%

·         For some of the University of Otago Bachelor's courses, a minimum SAT or Act score is required.

Postgraduate (UG) Admissions:

·         A relevant bachelor's degree is required with a 4.0 GPA or higher

·         English language proficiency is needed for which international students can take tests like IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic, with specified minimum scores.

·         Some programs may require work experience or professional registration in New Zealand

·         For programs like PhD, a research proposal may be required.

University of Otago has four campuses across New Zealand. Situated in Dunedin, the main campus houses central administration, Otago Business School and the departments of sciences, humanities and health sciences. The Christchurch campus is home to Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The campus is also the center of distance learning, postgraduate education, research, and clinical education. The Wellington campus has the Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Wellington City Office, which is responsible for admissions, summer school, alumni management, business networking, and research. The Auckland campus is responsible for children's issue, distance education, liaison, and course information. The Southland campus is located in Invercargill and provides numerous teacher education programs.

The neccesary documents required in the visa process for University of Otago, New Zealand include:

• Valid passport: Upon your stay in New Zealand, your passport has to be valid for at least three months.
• Filled-out Application for Student Visa (INZ 1012)
• An offer of admission: A space must be extended to you by a New Zealand institution or university. Typically, the forms are sent upon the receipt of the tuition payments.
• A confirmation letter from your present university stating that you are enrolled in a study abroad programme
• Receipt for health insurance
• You may be required to show Health and Character certificates
• Two passport-sized photographs
