According to unofficial sources, University of Rochester acceptance rate is 36%. Low acceptance percentage shows that university is hard to get into. Students must perform excellently in academics and be involved in extracurricular activities to make a positive impression. The University of Rochester received over 20,300 applications for the admission cycle of 2024-25, of which over 8,000 applicants were offered the opportunity to enroll themseleves at the university. However, only 1,100 students decided to enroll themselves. Of the 20,300 applicants, 7,500 were international aspirants, of which 1,300 got selected.

This data suggests that the general University of Rochester acceptance rate is 40.1%, meanwhile the Uni of Rochester acceptance rate for international students is just 18%.

On other hand Uni of Rochester acceptance rate for international students stands at just 18% which means the competition is extremely tough for international applicants and securing admission.

The University of Rochester acceptance rate stands at 36%, which makes it a moderately selective university to get into. In comparison with the Rochester Institute of Technology acceptance rate of 71%, the Uni of Rochester can be considered much more selective in its admission criteria.

According to official figures, among 6,764 students enrolled, 1,529 were international students which is 22.60% of the total. Furthermore, compared to other neighborhoods, there were more members of certain ethnic and racial groups, including White Non-Hispanic, non-resident aliens, Asian non-Hispanic, and Hispanic Latinos.

The University of Rochester expects a cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4 scale. Along with GPA, students must submit ACT scores between 31 and 34 and SAT scores between 1390 and 1540. Also, students must submit secondary school records, academic GPA, extracurricular activities records, essays, and teacher’s recommendations to enhance their selection probability.
