Disabled Students’ Allowance

If you have a disability or a specific learning difference such as dyslexia, you can get a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) to help to pay for any equipment and support you need.

Full-time/part-time undergraduates and postgraduates are eligible for DSAs on top of any other loans, grants and bursaries.

Childcare Grant

Help with your learning costs.

Full-time students with children in registered or approved childcare can apply for a Childcare Grant to help with these costs in term time and holidays.

Funding for armed forces personnel

Help with covering your funding thanks to the Ministry of Defence's ELCAS scheme.

Members (or recent members) of the Armed Forces.

NHS Learning Support Fund Training Grant

A non-repayable payment of £5,000 to eligible home students each academic year and additional payments worth up to a total of £3,000 per academic year for students in specialisms or regions struggling to recruit or to help students cover childcare costs.

Full-time, undergraduate students on the following courses: Nursing (Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disability, Children's and Young People's, and MNurse), Midwifery Practice, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Paramedic Science.
