No, UPPSC PCS syllabus is very much static and before changing the syllabus, the UPPSC needs to take approval from the Department of Personnel which works under the Chief Minister of the state. The candidates need to prepare the syllabus as given in the official notification.
The Commission changed the UPPSC PCS syllabus last year after almost 10 years.

In most cases, the candidates prepare for various exams simultaneously. There are certain core topics which are common to all the competitive exams. The candidates are suggested to prepare them well so that they can score better in the exam. Some of these topics are given below:

No, there is a vast difference in the prelims and Mains syllabus of the UPPSC PCS exam. Firstly, the structure of the prelims and main exam is vastly different. The UPPSC PCS prelims exam is an objective type exam and the main exam is a descriptive exam.
The traditional core subjects such as
- History
- Geography
- Economy
- Indian Polity
- Environment Studies
- Current Affairs
have common topics in prelims and main exam.
But the main exam has two state-specific papers, an ethics paper and, a Hindi paper which makes it a different ball game altogether.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission mentioned the UPPCS Prelims General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT) syllabus separately in the official notification. The candidates can see below the topics mentioned for the UPPSC PCS 2024 CSAT paper:
- Comprehension.
- Interpersonal skills, including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving.
- General mental ability
- Elementary Mathematics up to Class X level- Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Statistics.
- General English up to Class X level.
- General Hindi up to Class X level.

UPPSC PCS syllabus can be covered in 1 to 1.5 years time with a consistent effort. The UPPSC toppers and mentors always suggest covering the UPPSC PCS main syllabus first. Most of the topics are common for the prelims and main exam. The candidates are suggested to prepare the UPPCS syllabus in a integrated manner.
The candidates should start preparing with the NCERT Books and then go for the standard reference books.

The Commission removed the optional subject from the UPPSC Main exam. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission removed the optional subject based on the directives of the State Government. Earlier, the total number of subjects in the UPPSC PCS exam is 29 including four literature subjects. The candidates were required to select one of the optional subjects from the list. The General Studies, Hindi, and Essay paper were compulsory to all the candidates. The Commission should do the answer writing practice during preparation.
UPPSC 2023 Main exam will be conducted from September 26 based on the new syllabus and exam pattern.

Yes, the UPPSC PCS syllabus 2023 will be changed because the optional subject has been removed from the UPPSC Main exam.The Commission will introduce two papers which will ask the local folklore, traditions, and other Uttar Pradesh specific General Knowledge. The Commission will soon release the official notification mentioning the said changes officially.
The Commission introduced the two papers in the UPPSC Main exam. The Commission did not release the syllabus for the newly introduced syllabus.
