In UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling), seat allotment for reserved categories is primarily based on category rank within the respective reservation quotas. However, the process also considers the candidate's overall (CRL) rank and the availability of seats in the chosen category. Initially, seats are often allocated based on the overall merit list (CRL), but once those seats are filled, the process shifts to considering category ranks for reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and EWS.

After each counselling round, candidates can log into the UPTAC counselling official portal with their credentials to view the seat allotment results and download allotment letters for further admission formalities. Candidates must follow the deadline for each counselling round, or else they could be eliminated from the counselling process and lose their seat.

In the UPTAC counselling process, after the documents are uploaded, verification will be done online. During verification, various queries will be uploaded under the login of the candidates from the authorities regarding the documents (if needed). Candidates will be given time to respond to all those queries and resolve them. The candidates who will complete the query response and resolve the issues, if any, can proceed to the choice filling process.

In case you do not get a seat in UPTAC counselling round 1, then candidates can participate in the upcoming rounds. Also, candidates can rearrange and edit their choices until the third round. If seat is not allotted in the final round, then candidates can also appear for the special round that is conducted based on first - JEE Main ranks, second - CUET UG ranks and lastly based on class 12 marks.
