Yes, students have to participate in UPTAC Counselling if they want to get admission through the government quota at SRMS IBS. The institute selects students on an entrance + counselling basis mainly. Unless applying through the management quota, counselling is required.

There is low chances of getting this but you are UP residence so if maybe happened that you will get admission at lower branch .

The UPTAC counselling registration process starts with registration with JEE Main application number (or applicable entrance exam application number), name, mother's name, date of birth and gender. This is followed by the creation of a UPTAC counselling password, filling in of required details, uploading necessary documents and then paying the counselling fee.

To be eligible for admission to BArch course via UPTAC counselling, candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination and obtained at least 50 percent marks in total in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50 percent marks in class 12 examination.

or 

Passed 10+3 Diploma and obtained at least 50 percent marks in total.

The UPTAC counselling eligibility criteria for BTech & M.Tech (Integrated) course is:

Passed 10+2 examination and obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the subjects taken together.

OR

Passed D.Voc stream in the same or allied sector.
