PG DiplomaCandidate must have passed PG or equivalent from a recognised board / Institute/ University
M.A.Candidate must have Graduation Degree in a relevent field or equivalent from a recognised board / Institute/ University.
M.ComCandidate must have passed Graduation Degree in B.Com, BBA from Utkal University or any other University recognised by Utkal University,
B.ComCandidate must have passed Higher Secondary / +2 / Senior Secondary or any other equivalent examination passed from any Board / Council established by the Govt. of India or any State Govt. or any other equivalent examination recognised by Central Board of Secondary Education / Council of Higher Secondary / Dept. of Industry or any other Dept. of Govt. of Odisha or Utkal University.
B.A.Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary / +2 / Senior Secondary or any other equivalent examination passed from any Board / Council established by the Govt. of India or any State Govt. or any other equivalent examination recognised by Central Board of Secondary Education / Council of Higher Secondary / Dept. of Industry or any other Dept. of Govt. of Odisha or Utkal University.
BBACandidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board / Institute/ University.
MBA/PGDMCandidate must have completed Bachelor degree of minimum 3 years duration with above mentioned marks from any recognised University/Institute.
45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category.
MCACandidate must have completed BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree with above mentioned marks from any recognised University/Institute. or Candidate who have completed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level can also apply with minimum mentioned marks and 45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category.

Sambalpur and utkal university both are government university. Both university are from the oldest university from Odisha.sambalpur university  compare to  utkal university is less expensive . Utkal university is more expensive than sambalpur university let compare there MBA courses. The utkal university fees for MBA is around 50k for 2 years where as sambalpur university is around 25k for 2 years which is just half the fees of utkal university. As university life is better in utkal as compare to sambalpur university.

Both universities are state based universities and both are quite similar in every aspects but utkal university is better in infrastructure, campus life, faculty but sambalpur university offer slightly better median salary as compared to utkal university. Utkal university accept admission for MBA through OJEE only but sambalpur university accepts admission for MBA through ATMA, CAT, OJEE, XAT, MAT etc. Utkal university ranked A+ by the NAAC whereas Sambalpur university ranked A by NAAC . Sambalpur university is quite affordable as compare to utkal university. Placement records are similar and the recruiters are also almost same.

Maximum salary in BPUT is 10 INR LPA and average salary is 6 LPA INR. The best recruitment sites for BPUT are TCS,  Infosys,  Wipro and Capgemini. A total of 75 companies were visited and 36 placements were carried out at Utkal college. The average price of the package is between INR 1.80 LPA and INR 4 LPA.

The Heritage Academy in Kolkata has a placement percentage of around 60%. The highest package offered is 25 LPA and the lowest is 5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. 
 
Utkal University in Bhubaneswar has a placement rating of 8.1/10. In 2020, 35 students were placed out of 115 students in the PG 1-year course. In 2022, 805 students were placed out of 1,583 students in the PG course.
