Earlier it was called as Allahabad Agricultural Institute. As its name suggest it was one of the best colleges in agriculture courses in India. After that, they named it on its founder. Anyway, coming to the question, as some people have pointed out this college is best known for its agricultural courses all over world (and of course India!).
