No, the UGPET score is mandatory to get admission to a DPharm course at Lucknow University. The UGPET entrance examination for the DPharm course is ussually held in the mid of July every year. UGPET is conducted in an offline mode. Candidates can take the exam at the designated test centres as notified by Lucknow University. Hence, candidates are not allowed to get admission through management quota for the DPharm course.

The University of Lucknow BPharm admission is based on candidates' performance in the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) entrance test. For LU BPharm regular course, admission shall be made through AKTU counselling.

Candidates seeking admission to the Lucknow University BPharm course must have passed Intermediate or equivalent Examination Class 12 in the last five years with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with Maths/Biology (Zoology and Botany). Physics & Chemistry – 50%, Biology or Maths 50%. (For SC/ST 45%).

In the scenario, if two or more aspirants for the BPharm course at LU secure the same marks/ranks in the entrance examination, the university follows some rules for allocating the seat to deserving candidates, rules are:
- The candidate, who has secured a higher percentage of marks in Class 12 or equivalent examination will be given preference.
- If the marks secured in Class 12 or equivalent examination are the same in such cases first preference will be given to the candidate who has secured a higher percentage of marks at Class 10 or equivalent examination.
