Every state has its own criteria for domicile for any student. Of course in majority of the cases it depends on the domicile of the parents. As an example a student may complete his 10th in one state and 12th in another state but if the student's parents are say are from the armed forces and they are domiciled in Maharashtra then the students domicile will be considered as that of Maharashtra in spite of the fact that he has done his 10th and 12th from different states all together.
