According to WBJEE pattern, there will be negative marking for wrong answering according to categories. In category-1 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer and 0.5 will be deducted for category-2.

WBJEE 2023 question paper is divided into two sections - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Each paper is of 2 hours duration. While attempting the examination, the candidates will have to answer 75 questions from Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 80 questions from Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). How are the questions divided as per the WBJEE 2023 pattern?

As per the WBJEE 2023 pattern, the questions are divided into three categories. Category I consists of 110 multiple-choice questions where only one answer option is correct. Category II will consist of 25 multiple-choice questions where the candidates will have to select only one correct option. Finally, Category III will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions where one or more option will be correct. Candidates will have to answer majority of the questions in the examination correctly to have a higher chance of being qualified for the exam.

According to official pattern, WBJEE exam will be held as an offline test. Candidates will have to attempt category wise questions for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Marking scheme will be different for every question category.
