According to the WBJEE exam pattern, the duration of the entrance examination is 4 hours. For each paper i.e., Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry), 2 hours have been allotted, and the candidates will have to complete both the sections within the allotted duration. Multiple-choice questions of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have to be answered by the candidates within 4 hours. No extra time will be provided to the candidates to complete the entrance examination.

Yes. The candidates are advised to check the official WBJEE exam pattern before commencing their preparation process. By knowing the exam pattern beforehand, the candidates will be able to know and understand how the authorities will conduct the examination. Through the exam pattern, the candidates will also be familiar with the marking scheme and type of questions that are likely to be included in the WBJEE question paper. According to WBJEE pattern, there will be negative marking for wrong answering according to categories. In category-1 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer and 0.5 will be deducted for category-2.

WBJEE exam pattern outlines the details regarding how the entrance examination will be conducted by the authorities. WBJEE will be held as a pen-and-paper-based test. The total duration of the examination is 4 hours - 2 hours for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2 hours for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). The candidates will have to answer a total of 155 multiple-choice questions. In the paper, the questions are divided into three categories. Category I and II questions will have only one correct option while Category III questions will have one or more correct options. For every wrong answer in Category I and II, 1/4 mark will be deducted.
