WBJEE JECA exam pattern is available in the information bulletin released online at wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca. 

Pattern of Question Papers is as follows -

Category-I Each Q carries 1 mark (-ve marks = -1/4)

Category-II Each Q carries 2 marks (No -ve marks)

All questions will be of Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) type, with four answer options and should be completed within 2 hours. The questions will be in English.

WBJEE is divided into two papers – Paper 1 (Maths) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). For each paper, the students will have two hours to complete the exam. Overall, the duration of the WBJEE paper is four hours. No extra time will be given to complete the exam.

Yes, the WBJEE exam will be held as a multiple-choice paper. Every question will have multiple options, and the students will have to select the correct answer. In the OMR sheet, the correct answer has to be marked and submitted.

WBJEE question paper will consist of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Both Physics and Chemistry section will have 40 questions each. A total of 75 questions have to be attempted in the Mathematics section. Each subject will have different number of questions in each category.

WBJEE questions will be divided into three categories. Category I and II questions will have only one option correct from the available ones. However, in Category III, the questions may have one or more options correct. The students will have to choose more than one option if they think it is the correct answer.

At the exam centre, the students will have to mark their answers in the WBJEE OMR sheet. The sheet will be provided to the by the invigilators. Out of the given options, the correct answer has to be marked in the OMR sheet, by darkening the appropriate circle/bubble.

Yes, the wrong answers will be negatively marked in WBJEE. The weightage of the negative marking depends on the category of questions. Category I questions will have -1/4 marks negatively deducted, while for Category II, -1/2 marks will be cut. There is no negative marking for Category III questions.

Yes, the students will have the choice to attempt the WBJEE question paper in English or Bengali. Each question will be available in the paper in both English and Bengali, so the students can choose to read the one they are comfortable to use. However, no other language is used for WBJEE.

The WBJEE marking scheme is different according to the category of the question. The questions are divided into three categories. For Category I, one mark will be given for every correct answer, and -1/4 will be deducted for incorrect answer. For Category II questions, two marks will be given for correct answer and -1/2 mark will be cut for incorrect ones. Finally, for Category III questions, two marks will be allotted for correct answer and there is no negative marking.
