With an OBC rank of 4792 in WBJEE, admission to a government engineering college in West Bengal can be difficult for branches with high demand such as CSE, IT, or ECE in prestigious colleges like Jadavpur University or IIEST Shibpur. But there can be a possibility in lower-grade government colleges for branches such as Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering. Some of the options that are possible are Kalyani Government Engineering College, Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, and Dumkal Institute of Engineering and Technology. Watch out for counseling rounds, seat availability, and TFW quotas for optimum chances. Appearing for spot rounds is also a good way to get a seat.

With a rank of 8,318 in WBJEE, you stand a fair chance to get into the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) stream in some government engineering colleges of West Bengal. From the last year's cutoffs, you can expect ECE at Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, and Alipurduar Government Engineering and Management College, for which the cutoff ranks for ECE have varied from 8,500 to 12,000. But cutoffs vary annually depending on seat availability and competition. Attending WBJEE counseling and referring to official notifications for correct and updated information is recommended.
