Only eligibility matters, if you have scored above 45% than it's alright. Although, it doesn't matter anywhere, score good in WBJEE and get your dream college.

If you can get admission to Calcutta University with a rank of 7K will depend entirely on the category you belong to. For the General AI category, admissions are not possible since the overall Calcutta University WBJEE cutoff 2025 ranged from 545 to 5256.

However, if you belong to the General HS category, a rank of 7000 might get you admitted but only to the BTech in Jute and Fibre Technology course, since its last round cutoff was 13248. To know the cutoff for other categories, students can go to this page

Yes, if you have a valid JEE Main score, you can be admitted to the B.E./B.Tech programme at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT), Baruipur, Kolkata, without taking the WBJEE. For admission to B.Tech programs, GMIT accepts both WBJEE and JEE Main results. Candidates must fulfill the requirements, which include earning at least 45% of the possible points (40 percent for reserved categories) and passing the Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
