XAT is easy as compared to CAT. I was also a student who prepared for XAT immediately after my graduation. The important things which you should look into while preparing for this exam are as follows:
1. Select one of the best coaching centres which offer quality education. TIME is one of the famous coaching centres for XAT and MAT.
2. Dedication-Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve.
3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in XAT are from Hindu editorial.
4. Try to do a maximum number of online mock tests. You will definitely clear XAT by doing the above.
5. Try to read as much as you can and make note of points.
6. Revision of each topic every week is very important.
7. Mathematical ability questions will be little-twisted, try to solve them as fast as you can.

XAT is easy to crack. 3 months hard work will help you. Xavier's Aptitude Test is one of the exams that all students will try. The syllabus is like this:
Language Comprehension
Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
Logical Reasoning
General Awareness
These are the major questions which will be asked for XAT.
XAT is completely online exam.
The exam is divided in 4 sections with 25 MCQs in each section. Total questions are 100. All questions will carry equal marks in XAT. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and there will be negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

There are a number of exams conducted in India for the MBA type courses. Exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT, IBSAT, NMAT, SNAP, etc. have some minor tweaking and variations apart from the main sections. Each of these exams has a quantitative aptitude, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning and data interpretation, apart from GK or essay writing section in some of the exams. So, you have to prepare accordingly for these exams either by taking coaching classes or correspondence course or by self-preparation or by following recommended books. After you have prepared for the most difficult level questions, you may try to get some question banks for the specific exam you are targeting either offline mode I.e. books on exams or online mode i.e. free question banks websites or paid question banks for practice.

First, decide yourself what you want to do MBA or job, because if you are planning for a good college then I would rather suggest you to study for CAT exam with complete dedication of taking admission this year. CAT needs a lot of practice and study to get admission in good colleges. If you waste time in deciding these confusions you will not able to give CAT exam at good stage. So I would suggest start preparing for CAT entrance exam with complete dedication and Self-motivation. Then if you get a very good score go for TOP MBA colleges to complete your goal and if unfortunately you couldn't able to crack CAT exam then you can go for any suitable job for one year then you will have time and you can prepare will for next CAT exam.
While doing your final year you will have a flow of study for CAT and at least you will not waste a year for preparation of CAT.
