Sainath, GMAT score and XAT scores are not to be used together. Only one of these is to be evaluated - Your GMAT score of 700 will provide you with better opportunity than XAT score of 80 percentile. You will be eligible with your GMAT score.

Another way of admission is internal tests or admission criteria of individual Management Institutes or Universities.
Yet another way is of management quota seats.
If you appeared for any of the tests go for admission using that otherwise use your graduation scores for admission

CAT preparation alone will not be enough for XAT as XAT has a section on Decision Making which is very different from anything on CAT question paper. You will need extra preparation for it.

For top colleges, the answer is no. And same for other colleges. Prepare well & score above 90 Percentile to get into good B-School. Work hard and give more mock exams.
Good luck.

It has normalization method where you need to answer selected questions which you feel you can solve well and in lesser time, if you make mistakes and consume lot of time your score will drop. However, in no time and selected questions if answered right, you will get good score.
