The eligibility criteria for admission to the MBA programme offered by the IIMs is that the candidate must be a graduate and have cleared the CAT exam with at least 95+ percentile (General category). In the top six IIMs, the cut-offs for General category is as high as 99-100 percentile. 
IIMs shortlist candidates based on CAT score and the selection process is as they have mentioned on their website separately. The exam selection process for CAT will consist of a; 
1. Group Discussion (GD)
2. Written Ability Test (WAT)
3. Personal Interview (PI).
Post the COVID-19 scenario, some institutes conduct online interviews only for shortlisted candidates.

CAT, XAT, and CMAT scores are accepted by The Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) Ranchi for its management courses. The overall cutoff for the CAT exam is 25–60 percentile. The overall cutoff for the XAT exam is 25–35 percentile. 

The cutoffs for XISS Ranchi are :
1. CAT: 25 percentile for PGDRM
2. XAT: 35 percentile for PGDM Marketing
3. CMAT: 45 percentile for PGDM in Finance

The eligibility criteria for admission to XISS Ranchi is a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying examination. If selected, candidates must pass their graduation examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates) by August 2023.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) Ranchi is that the candidates must have a three or four-year graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. SC/ST candidates are given an extra 5% relaxation. The courses offered by XISS Ranchi are in the following specializations: Human resource management, Financial Management, Operation Management, Rural Management, Information Technology, and Marketing. The selection criteria for these courses is based on performance in the CAT/XAT/CMAT entrance exam. For the PGDM programme direct admission is also available in XISS's management quota or NRI quota seat.

The MBA programme in Financial Management in 2023 at XISS Ranchi had the second-the highest package, at INR 17.50 LPA. One of the leading B-schools in India, XISS, Ranchi accepts CAT scores for management programmes, the 2023-25 batch cutoff will be released soon after CAT results. For the 2022-2024 batch in 2022 CAT eligible student's cutoff was 60 for HR, 25 for PGDM-RM, 35 (Percentile) for PGDM-FM 35 percentile, and for the XAT cutoff was also 60 as it is for CAT. In 2019, for the 2019-21 batch, the CAT eligible student cutoff was 58, it may vary for reserved category students, but a minimum of an average 40 percentile would be required for all reserved section students. The cutoff for CAT candidates was 50 (General) in 2021, for the 2021-23 batch at XISS, Ranchi.
