M.Sc. in Chemistry - Batch of 2020
4.4

The campus is beautiful, and the food in each canteen is very clean and hygienic.
Placements: Since the Chemistry department encourages students to pursue their careers in research, there are limited placements. Only teaching-related recruiters come to the college and offer an average salary of 4 LPA. This year, recruiters like Avanti Group, Azim Premji Foundation, and some local colleges came.
Infrastructure: Fans, bunk beds, and cupboards are provided in excellent condition, with two plug sockets for every student. Food is not provided in the hostel, one must buy from canteens and eat, but it's very affordable. The process for registration of the hostel starts during the time of admission. To book a slot, we paid 1000. The hostel is quite affordable at 15,000 per semester, which is like 2,500 per month. I have not rented a PG, but my friends have in the Sonapur or Kamerkuchi locality.
Faculty: M.Sc. Chemistry is a four-semester course. In the first year, you will learn all the theories and some practical experiments. In the second year, particularly in the fourth semester, you have to take up one research project under the supervision of a professor, which will help to develop skills in handling instruments and an interest in research.

The campus is very beautiful, plus the food in each canteen is very clean and hygienic.
Placements: I am in my first year here, so opportunities for me were not quite many. Seniors got opportunities from companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TATA, Wadhwani Foundation, Internshala, etc. There were opportunities often. One can prepare for competitive exams well.
Infrastructure: There were usually 3 fests every month, held by various departments, which include food fest, music fest, Mental health conferences, cultural fest, etc. The library was stacked with various books and journals. Novels by famous as well as underrated authors, Research papers, Theses, Self help books, etc. There were projectors in every classroom, labs, and proper facilities available for B.Sc. students, computer rooms, photography room, journalism room, editorial room, etc.
Faculty: The faculty to student ratio was proper and justifiable. There were more than 14+ faculty members in our department. The major class was divided between two professors. They were quite approachable, one can just go knock on their cabins if they have any doubt, and they were always ready to help. The names of the faculty members I liked are Sir Gunjan Das, Miss Sagarika Kotoky, Sir Pinaki Dean, Sir Fabian Wanbok, and Miss Trisha Goswami. I liked them because they teach really well, and they put in a lot of effort to prepare slides for every class.

My review about this college.
Placements: When we get selected for internships, companies hire us for 6 months on a stipend basis, giving us a project to complete for our academic year presentation. After that, if our performance is good, they offer us job placement. More than 35 companies visited for campus recruitment for MCA. I have seen big companies like TCS, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Gate, Patni, HCL, Google, Microsoft, TechM, and many more. The salary range varies from 2.5 to 5.0 LPA. The first company is always TCS, and it offers 3.0 LPA, which is average in the placement packages.
Infrastructure: Course curriculum was awesome, they have added all the programming languages needed in the industry, which helps us survive in companies. They also provide skill enhancement courses, which help us get placements. The hostel amenities and facilities are up to standard, with a good, quiet, and very peaceful environment, and are very clean. The hostel authorities are always trying to help students feel at home, and the mess quality was very good, providing hygienic food.
Faculty: Faculty in this college are very helpful. All faculty members are highly educated in their respective subjects, and they have all the necessary skills to teach and handle. They will guide you even by going out of their way; they want students to succeed. Faculty also encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, technical contests, and workshops. There is a semester pattern, and the exam-conducted course consists of 4 semesters. Each semester has 5 subjects plus two lab practical subjects. At the time of the practical exam, an external examiner is appointed to conduct the practical.

Review of Assam Don Bosco University, Azara.
Placements: There are many placement opportunities as well as internship programs in the college. Even this year, a good number of students got placements after their internships, about 30%. The companies usually belong to the banking and marketing sectors, and the salaries offered range from Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000, which is quite enough for an entry-level job, especially in the northeast regions.
Infrastructure: Facilities offered in the college are quite satisfactory and resourceful. Most classrooms are fitted with smart boards and Wi-Fi connections, which make learning very interactive and interesting. The library is also full of quality books and has the space necessary for studying. There is also an infirmary and three canteens having a variety of food items.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Most of them have a Ph.D. and are skilled enough to tackle the topics in class. The course curriculum is also taught well and kept up-to-date and relevant. The semester exams are also challenging enough to push students and encourage them to learn.
Other: I chose this course because I was already in the Commerce department, and I felt that this course would be a good step for my future. More real-life teaching, like taxes, investment, and finance subjects. Better sports activities and clubs would definitely add to the overall quality of the campus.

My experience in university is good but dissatisfied with the campus
Placements: Placement is not taken important in our university. There is placement staff who invites the recruiter for interview so one who are interested go for the interview. Since I didn't go for interview I don't know the highest or lowest package offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average. There is wifi but I can say it's useless. Labs are good and classrooms are also good there is single seats available for all the students. Hostel is also there for both boys and girls I don't know about the mess and all. 2 canteens are there in campus. Sports and games are good.
Faculty: Teachers helps a lot in our studies and in our projects and helps in carrier building. They are qualified PHD holders. New faculties are there without PhD holders. Some of the faculty are very knowledgeable and some are not. Teaching quality is good enough.
Other: I chose this course because I want to setup my own business. To know about the business I choose this course. The best thing is that this course offers one to be well rounded person and help to be socialize. Events frequently happened in the university like programs and exhibition and industry visit etc. Scholarship are also good.

M.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2019
4.2
5Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
I also like the simplicity of the campus and easy access to the library.
Placements: As the course is MSc Physics, there is not so much campus placement opportunity, but yet some ed-tech companies like Byju's come here to take students. Here in the department, more focus is on research and to do a PhD, not on job placement. So think twice before taking this course.
Infrastructure: In one room, 4 people have to stay. The room is small, though the placement of your property (bed, cupboard, table) is arranged in such a way that you don't feel occupied by them. They provide shower-type, basin-type bathrooms. And for the food, they don't have a kitchen in hostels. But they have canteens near every hostel block. So no pre-payment of foods; you will have to buy the food at the moment and eat. But nothing to be worried about the prices. It's affordable. For thalis, they range 50-100 based on what kind of thali (veg-chicken-pork). The hostel fees for my 1st semester were 20,000, but my 2nd semester was 14,000. So the fees decrease as the semester increases.
Faculty: For MSc Physics, specializations in plasma physics, astrophysics, high energy physics, and electronics are provided. Good faculty members who are always there for students to help us out in need. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders with lots of teaching experience in them. Monthly tests are organized to ensure students are always following what is being taught.
