CSJMU MA Eligibility & Highlights 2024

CSJM University offers MA programme across several specialisations, including History, Mathematics, Economics, Sociology, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Statistics, Education, among others. The selection process for this programme is based on an online entrance test conducted by CSJM University followed by university-level counselling. To secure admission in the MA programme, candidates need to obtain a BA degree (three-year course) from this University or an Indian University recognised for the purpose by the Executive Council. The eligibility criteria for some of the specialisations are different which is mentioned below:

Facilities like Students Welfare center, Clubs, Career counseling and guidance, Hostel, etc. Have made the life of students active, fun and easy. The campus is spread across 264 acres. The residential wing of the campus includesfaculty membersof Life Sciences, Business Management, Education, and English. There are separate hostel, academic and administrative blocks. CSJMU library has its computer subnet with the most modern Cat-6 network technology. It is connected to the campus LAN using an optical fibre network. The library automation is being done using SOUL Software. So far it has completed its database of about 60,000 books, and 3000 theses, which are available online through its web OPAC.

Old college but budget friendly .

Placements: There is no placement cell. If you want any job or work, you have to go somewhere. Even though there is no career counselling class, you can only complete your degree here. And if you want job, there is no option for any job. Marking is also very bad so you have to study hard.

Infrastructure: Old-style classes: no Wi-Fi, no mess, no canteen. They are still using blackboard and chalk. Fans and light are also very bad. Seats are broken. But they are developing it slowly. There is no parking in college so you have to park your car at least 500 meters away.

Faculty: The faculty is good. They are always there for your help. The curriculum, of course, is easy and understandable. The exam pattern is bilingual so you can choose between languages. The sitting arrangements are bad during exams; they disturb you during exam time for sign-in and verification.

Other: Teachers are good and experienced but other staff is not helpful.

Placements: Placements were not provided in our college.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not good. Library, classrooms, and canteen were good. Wi-Fi was not available in our college. Students can participate in sports and games. The quality of food served in the canteen was good. Medical facility was good.

Faculty: Teachers in our college were good and helpful. The course curriculum was good for humanities. They helped students to prepare for competitive exams like UPSC and PCS. Exams were conducted well.

Other: I chose MA in political science because I'm preparing for the civil service examinations. The course curriculum could have been more contemporary. Campus activities and events were not organised in our college.

It has good infrastructure and facilities nowadays.

Placements: Most of the students have got a percentage of approximately 70%. The highest salary package was 13 LPA, the lowest was 3 LPA, and the average package was 5 LPA to 8 LPA. Approximately 20% of students got internships. The roles offered are music composer, instrument player, and music teacher.

Infrastructure: All of the departments have their own Wi-Fi facilities with high-speed internet. The classrooms have their own separate air conditioners and coolers. The maintenance of the room is checked every month. Water facilities are very good in the department, especially in the summers. The mess and canteen are also good nowadays.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and caring as well. They're quite knowledgeable and well-qualified. The course provided to us is very useful and relevant. It will help us in the future to build our careers. The semester exams are quite difficult, but the mid-term exams are quite easy so that you can attain a good percentage on your final examinations.

Other: I chose the Master of Arts by Music (Vocal) course because I love music and it's my passion. I want to make it my profession too.

The best Urdu department in Kanpur.

Placements: The placements are below average as of now. I don't think any companies are coming to our college for internships and placements. We have a placement cell, that cares about our placement and internship opportunities but the percentage of placement is very low. It is not a professional course by which you will get a direct job.

Infrastructure: Campus life is not amazing. The college infrastructure is not modern but quite good. We have a clean and spacious classroom, library, canteen, playground, and a garden. The college campus is equipped with a CCTV camera. Sports faculty is good, every year Sports Day celebration takes place in the college.

Faculty: The faculty member of our department are highly educated and professional. They are very supportive and helpful to every student. They are very punctual in classes and their teaching method is really good. If we have any problem and confusion on any topic, they solve it. The exam is conducted by the University of Kanpur.

It was a good experience for me.

Placements: About 75% of the aggregate was the eligibility criterion to get admission for this course. The lowest salary package offered here was 4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered was 34 LPA. Wipro, TCS and TFL were the top companies that recruit students from here. Above 60% of students got internships from the course and got placed in Wipro. Writer, data-related roles, etc., are offered here.

Infrastructure: Overall, the facilities were good here. There were no prescription problems at all managing everything. Classrooms were actually good, considering it was a fine college. The library was a bit not fine for me, but it was fine. Overall, everything was good, and the hostel was affordable and good.

Faculty: Teachers here were helpful and knowledgeable. The course was just fine. If you have dedication, it's going to be fine. Exams have never been the problem for me because the ambience of the college was actually very good for students.

Other: I had an interest in this course, so I chose it. Sometimes I felt tense because the syllabus was lengthy, but I managed it fine.

It is an old college but not the best.

Placements: The quality of placements is not good. There is no active placement cell in the college. All the students mainly opt for higher studies and want to engage in their respective fields. Students have to try to get jobs by themselves. So try to fetch on your own for good placements instead of the college authority.

Infrastructure: The college has all the necessary infrastructure and is well ventilated and has spacious classrooms, library, computer lab, playground, canteen, and good water facility. Sports facilities are also available but the campus building is not modern. There are two departments only and they are the art department and commerce department. But there are no security guards on the campus. Anyone can enter the college without any fear.

Faculty: Professors in our college are very helpful and kind. The quality of teaching is good. Teachers are full of knowledge and experienced but staff needs some enhancement in their methods of study for completing the syllabus. Our curriculum is up to date. Exams are conducted by CSJM University.
