Admissions to Desh Bhagat University, Punjab are based on:

·       The merit on qualifying marks only

·       The merit on academic marks plus entrance test marks

·       The merit on National Level Entrance Tests such as NEET, AIAPGET, etc.

Established in 1972, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab is the only private university in state of Punjab to get the 12 (b) status and operates its campuses in Moga, Chandigarh, Shri Muktsar Sahib and Kenya. The university offers 256+ professional courses across 50 streams like agriculture, applied science, ayurveda, business management and communication, dentistry, engineering, etc. at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level approved by UGC, AIU, BCI, CCIM, NAAC, PCI, INC, PNRC Mohali, UN Academic Impact, NCTE, DCI, CSIR, etc. Besides this, the university also has several international collaborations including those with Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan; Sprott Shaw College, British Columbia and Marketing Institute of Singapore, etc. 

Desh Bhagat University extends training and placement support to its students. The university has an established placement cell that looks after the on-campus placements. It plays a liaison role between the students and companies. Moreover, many placement-related activities are conducted at DBU. Following is a list of placement activities conducted at the university:

• Industrial Visits: These visits are essential as they help the students understand how industries work in real life. They get to understand the functioning of industries.
• Guest Lectures: The placement cell arranges Guest Lectures, where industry leaders come to guide students and tell them about prospective career paths.
• Personality Development Programme: In this programme, the university helps students develop employability skills such as communication, leadership, time management, industry-based skills, and more.

B.Tech admissions are done through an entrance exam held by the university itself.The university welcomes applications from international students as well. Students with high scores in JEE exams can get an exemption from the B.Tech entrance exam. The application fee for B.Tech is Rs 500 and admissions typically begin in the last week of May. Applicants must have passed both 10th and 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised board.
