Review of DSU - Dayananda Sagar University.
Placements: I cannot provide an exact percentage but generally academically strong students with good skill sets were placed. Around 5 to 6 students from our senior batch were successfully placed. The highest package offered was approximately 4.5 LPA while most offers ranged between 2.5 and 4 LPA. Some of the top recruiters included Amazon The Times of India Myntra Flipkart and Beehive Communications. Internships were also offered to several students at companies like The Times of India, Beehive, Myntra, and some digital media startups. The top roles offered included journalism, content writing, PR executive, and social media manager.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is okay, with two main blocks; however, the lifts on almost every floor are non-functional. The Wi-Fi is poor and rarely works properly. Classrooms are spacious, and the library is a major highlight. Unfortunately, the food on campus is generally avoided, as many students, including myself, have experienced food poisoning. The hostel food is average but manageable; although, my friend once found a caterpillar in her curry, which was quite shocking. On the positive side, the medical facilities are good since we have our hospital, and the sports facilities are well maintained.
Faculty: I do not find the faculty very effective. Only 2 out of 8 teachers teach well, while the rest merely read from slides, expecting students to understand everything on their own. This is particularly difficult for those of us who need more time. There is also noticeable favoritism, with better marks and internship opportunities going to just a few students. The course no longer feels relevant, as many subjects were removed without consulting us, leaving fewer options for further studies. It also does not feel industry-ready. Semester exams are manageable if you score 35; the rest of the grade depends on internal assessments.
Other: One of the best things about my course is that my IMC professor helped build my confidence in public speaking. Now, I am not afraid of presenting PowerPoint slides. I feel that if they hadn’t removed so many courses, we wouldn’t be struggling to choose a relevant Master's degree. The events in college are good, but scholarships are only awarded to students from a specific state, which feels unfair to the rest of us.

Best college for Journalism and Mass Communication.
Placements: Almost all students of our senior batch were placed as reporters, correspondents, and marketing team heads. Most recruiting companies include Amazon, Flipkart, Sense, The New Indian Express, The Hindu, and many digital media channels, as well as production houses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing; the facilities are top-notch, and the staff is supportive. Fests happen frequently, which are very engaging and interesting. Sporting events are also great, providing entertainment and full of energy. I love the campus for sure.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified, helpful, and supportive, along with being experienced in their respective fields. They impart great lectures and teach us the necessary skills for our jobs. The staff is also helpful and cares for the students like family.

Overall, I had an amazing experience in the college.
Placements: The college provides placements and internships to the students through various processes. But, the placements are not very good and attractive. The main issue is that the visiting companies offer jobs mostly in Kannada journalism which means students of other states are not able to apply for these jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is amazing with TV, Wi-Fi and PC facilities provided. They also have newspapers and magazine corners. There is a special library for students of journalism, and it also has a different floor for the journalism department now. Separate canteens and sports area are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced from famous universities, and some are famous journalists with working experience in foreign. Some faculty members are editors of famous daily publishers. The course curriculum is mostly theoretical, and it needs to provide more practical visits, tours and experiences.
Other: Annual fests are organised. The campus crowd is amazing. Extracurricular activities are organised every Saturday.

Very good infrastructure and excellent education are provided.
Placements: At Dayananda Sagar University, around 85% of students get placed. The highest package is 28 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Infosys, TCS, and Deloitte. Around 75% of students get internships at Infosys, Bosch, and IBM. Roles offered include Software Developer, Analyst, Consultant, and other top positions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good on every campus. Wi-Fi, labs, a library, and all necessary facilities are provided for every type of course. Hostel facilities and the security system are good and well maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and very well experienced and qualified, so students can be well educated in the subjects they have opted for. It also makes students industry-ready, as many workshops are conducted. There is nothing difficult about the semester exams, as students just need to study well to score good grades. Good faculty. Students get proper instructions and teaching from all course faculty.
Other: I chose this because my upcoming future will decide something related to journalism, and there is nothing I wish to improve or change.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty and good placements in 2019
Placements: The top role offered during the placements at our college that I preferred was in PR at the Team leader position in Adfactors PR company. The placements are really good here and if you have some extra skills you can easily fetch a good job with an average package of around 8 LPA. And the internship is also good here. Around 91 percent of students had easily cracked the placement tests.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college as compared to others in the city is quite good. As much as I felt, you would really have a good infrastructure and good facilities here. There are also hostel facilities here including a separate hostel for students who are from abroad. You would get Wi-Fi facilities, canteen and mess where the food quality is really good. The facilities for medical and sports are also available on campus.
Faculty: The teachers over here are really highly qualified and they take good care of students. They are very knowledgeable, very reliable, and helpful. Regarding the course curriculum, I would say it's really relevant and makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage is not so high and you would just need to score a CGPA of more than 4 to pass the exams. But you would rather like to score high if you want a good placement at the end of the course.
Other: I had chosen this course of B.A. in mass media and journalism because the best thing about this course is you get to study everything from the top and you get an idea about each and everything of the major fields. I think there is nothing such major to improve in this field but it can vary from the ideology of student to student. There are many campus events organised here such as Furore where you get to indulge in these events and get real exposure to the real world.
